Markets for FMI NewCoal's Cowboy Coal Product
Low Rank Coals are found world wide and in the greatest abundance in the Power River Basin of Wyoming and Montana. In the US alone close to 1 Billion tons of coal are consumed by US power plants; the baseload generation for the US market. Of the 400 million tons of low rank coal moving out of the Powder River Basin each year a 3rd party market anlysis, done for FMI, indicates a market of 50 Mllion tons/year for upgraded coal in the US Lower 48.
